Sr.Sunanta- Elsy Joseph was born on Oct.27,1954 as the fifth out of eight children  in the Anchukandathil family. Her parents were Mr. Joseph and Mrs. Bridget.  She had two nun sisters also, Sr.Poulinos Mary FCC and late Sr. Breeda of Good Shepherd Sisters.

After SSLC, Elsy Joseph joined SD Convent Chunangamvely in 1972 and made her first profession  on Jan 5,1976 and on Dec 8, 1981 her final commitment. She had a quiet and pleasant nature, always had a smile on her face!

She studied nursing in Dusseldorf, Germany and served there for ten years. She returned from there in 1987 and served in places like Coonoor Sagayamatha hospital, Vyasarpady, Manalady, Nalrod, Kothumudy, Perumanam, Thandalam, Pallalakuppam, Sennathur and Chennathur. Her pleasant nature, availability, readiness to help the needy, simple and humble nature etc was an inspiration for many. She loved her religious commitment and lived it faithfully, enjoying her community life.  In 2010, April 10, Sunanta opted Tamilnadu Region While she was superior at Nalrod convent, had some breathing trouble and was under treatment. It was in 2022 July 14 she was brought to Provincial house, Chethipuzha. After checkup it was found that she had cancer which had spread all over. On Sept, 10, 2022 her condition became serious, after receiving the sacrament of the sick, she breathed her last in the presence of   Mother DeepthiJose   and sisters amidst prayers and chanting . May her soul rest in peace and may she intercede for us.
