St. Joseph
The Patron Saint of SD Congregation is St.Joseph. From the very inception of our Congregation, we experience His powerful mediation. The spirit of destituteness and deep experience of the love of God of the Saint, who unconditionally surrendered himself to the will of God in the obscurity of the mystery of Incarnation and in the insecurities of the sojourn in Egypt, is a powerful inspiration and means of nourishment to us in living our charism.

His Beatitude Mar Raphel Thattil
Mar Raphael Thattil was born to Ouseph and Thresia on 21 April 1956 and was baptized on 30 April 1956 in Thrissur. Lazar (late), Thomas, Baby (late) Francis, Sosannam, Joy and John, are his brothers and sisters. After his primary education at St. Thomas College HS, Thrissur, he joined St. Mary’s Minor Seminary, Thope on 04 July 1971. He completed his study of Philosophy and Theology in St. Thomas Apostolic Seminary Kottayam
He was born on Feb. 2, 1972 at Changanacherry and joined the minor seminary in Kurichy, and had his theological studies at St. Thomas Apostolic Seminary, Vadavathur, Kottayam.
He was ordained priest on Jan. 1, 2000. He holds a doctorate in psychology and become popular as a retreat preacher and psychologist. A polyglot, he is proficient in English, Italian, Spanish, and German.
Bishop Tharayil was elected auxiliary bishop at the week-long Syro Malabar Synod held at St. Thomas Mount at Kakkanad from Jan 9, 2017. As the oriental canon law prescribes, his appointment comes with prior papal permission.

Venerable Fr. Varghese Payapilly was born on 8 August 1876 at Konthuruthy in Kerala, as the fourth of five children of Lonan Payapilly Palackapilly and Kunju Mariam Kattithara. On 21 December 1907 he received the Holy Orders. His first appointment was to be the parish priest of St. Augustine’s Church, Kadamakkudy on 21 May 1909.On 29 July 1910 he was appointed the parish priest of St. Mary’s church Alangad.
