Sr.Marceline (Marykunju) was the third among six children for her parents, late Mr.Sebastian Panniveil and late Mrs.Thresiamma. She was born on 10 September, 1932, at Cheruvandoor, Kottayam District. Late Sr.Emerit SD is her sister. Late Sr.Catherine SD was her aunt. She joined SD, Chunangamvely and on 7 February, 1954, she made her First Profession and Perpetual Profession on 24 May, 1959. Two years after the Perpetual Vows, she was sent to SD Thuravoor as the superior. Later she served the Congregation as the General Councillor, Provincial Councillor, Vicar Provincial, Novice Mistress and Marthas’ Mistress. It deserves special mention that Sr.Marceline was the first Administrator of the Samaritan Hospital, Pazhanganad. She was a person of prayer, kind-hearted and had great determination and insight. She was capable of finding an amicable solution for any difficult, problematic situation. Her presence was a joy for sisters as well as for others. She had worked with Msgr.George Valliarumpeth, which gave her a lot of valuable knowledge regarding various matters. She was noble, humble and very good in acting. For thirty five years she was diabetic and slowly it ended up in diabetic retinopathy. For two years she was completely bed- ridden at Santhwana and suffered from dementia and renal failure. She was extremely grateful to the generous care received from the Congregation. As a contented soul, Sr. Marceline left for her eternal reward on 21 July, 2012, at 6.50 in the evening.
