Sr. Leo SD (Mary Thomas) was born as the eldest daughter of Mr.KC Thomas and Mary in Kalapurakkal family Kainakari in the Archdiocese of Changanassery on May 29, 1932. After passing the intermediate in 1952, she joined Chunagamveli as a candidate. And she took her first vows in 1954 and her perpetual vows in 1959. After studying TTC, she served as a teacher for 32 years in Chembu, Palluruthy, Peringazha, Nellimattom and Chemmanu. After retirement, she served as local superior in Vyasarpadi, Santhome, Alappuzha, Kodinnattukunnu, Elikulam and Karikattoor and as a provincial auditor from 1994-97. Sr.Leo, who was full of innocence, love, honesty and humor, had been suffered by old age-related ill health since 2018. On March 6, 2024, while Provincial Superior, Mother Deepthi Jose, Councillors, and sisters were praying, at 9.15 am, that holy soul peacefully departed to be with her Lord. May her soul rest in peace!
