Sr.Jositta (Annamma) was the second of seven children of late Mr.Abraham and late Mrs.Mariamma of theChelekat family. She was born at Champakulam, Archdiocese of Changanacherry, on 4 August, 1935. She had her education at St.Thomas U.P School and St.Mary’s High School, Champakulam, Alappuzha District. On 6 January, 1957 she made her First Profession and Perptual Profession on 5 May, 1962. Sr.Mercitta SD is her sister and Sr.Subin Jose SD is her niece. Sr.Jositta was a person of prayer, hardwork, and loving care. She was very much concerned about her sisters, respected the superiors and obeyed them. Most of her time she spent as caring caterer in Mother House, Chunangamvely, Mercy Home, Podippara, Generalate, Thottumugham, Alappuzha, Pala, Mudiyoorkara, and Provincial House, Chethipuzha. She was very keen in visiting houses, especially cared for the poor and needy ones. A person who lived the Charism of SD! She used to get up early in the morning and spent a lot of time with her beloved Spouse! There was a personal touch in all her dealings with others. Though, for a long time she suffered from inability to hear, she continued her loving service totally depending on the Lord. For about a year she was bed-ridden due to old age discomforts. On 23 January, 2017 after receiving the Sacrament of the Sick, she quietly passed away completing her pilgrimage on earth. The funeral took place on 24 January, at 3.00pm, in Provincial House, Chethipuzha. Dear Sr.Jositta, your personal concern to everyone is ever remembered.
