Sr.Christy (Ansamma) was the second child of late Mr Antony Madathil and late MrsThresiamma. She was born on 27 February, 1957 at Muttar, Changanassery Archdiocese. She joined SD in 1976 and her First Profession was on 6 January, 1979 and Perpetual Profession on 8 December, 1986. Fr.Cyriac Madathil CMI is her brother. Sr.Sibileena SD is her aunt. Srs. Justy SD and Metty SD are her first cousins. She rendered her services at Chunangamvely, Konthuruthy, Kongorpalayam, Sennathur, Thandalam and Munchirai. Mt.25:40 was her guiding principle of life. She got the necessary strength and courage for the selfless service from her personal prayer early in the morning. She saw Jesus in superiors and obeyed them, served the needy and suffering humanity. Sr.Christy was vibrant, foresighted, dynamic and hardworking. She was a zealous missionary, moved around spreading the Good news and bore witness to the compassionate Lord. She spent most of her time in Tamilnadu mission and for its development. She often used to repeat “Thank You Jesus, during these nineteen years of my religious life, I am happy and contented.” While she was at Thandalam, she started showing the symptoms of blood cancer. She was admitted at CMC, Vellore for treatment on 30 July, 1997. She drew strength and courage from the Eucharistic Celebration and hence was able to face the pain and struggle of the sickness quietly, with a smiling face. During the last days, she was brought to Samaritan Hospital, Pazhanganad. On 29 November, 1997, Saturday, at 11.10 am, she bade farewell to this world. Dear Sr. Christy, you were a valiant soldier in the vineyard of the Lord.
