Sr.Antonia (Theresamma) was born as the second among four children for late Mr.Kurian Vechurettu and late Mrs.Mariam, at Ettumanoor, Changanassery Archdiocese. In 1942 she passed ESLC and joined SD Chunangamvely, and made her Frst Profession on 1 May, 1945 and Perpetual Profession on 6 June, 1954. She served the Congregation as General Secretary, General Councillor, General Treasurer, local superior and formator. She had a pleasant appearance and was honest in dealings. She was good at accounts, responsible, punctual, orderly, hardworking, compassionate to the poor and needy, prayerful, and growth promoting person. She was blessed with a passionate love for the Congregation and a big heart, embracing every sister with affection. She had a privilege to work with the Director, Msgr.George Valliarumpeth, which gave lot of insight about the Congregation and enriched her personality. She handed over generously whatever she learned from him as well as from the pioneer members to the young generation. Sr.Antonia enjoyed community life and was a very good listener. Her selfless service reached places like Chunangamvely, Perumanur, Madras, Pazhanganad, Thottumugham, Kuzhuppilly, Pala and Kanjirappally. She lived and served at Mercy Home, Chethipuzha, for long 22 years as accountant and correspondent. There she celebrated her Platinum Jubilee and 95 th birthday. After this, due to old age and ill health, she came to Santhwana and was leading a life of rest. On 31 October, 2019, at 9.15pm, while the Rosary Procession was going on, she felt some discomfort and quietly after receiving the Sacrament of the Sick, she entrusted her soul into the hands of her Beloved.
