As a response to the invitation of Rt. Rev. Arulappa Chinnappa we opened a convent in a rented building at Perumanam on 17 January 1997. Srs. Georgitta (Sup.), Mercy Jose and Tracy were the pioneers. On 27 April 1998, Sisters moved to the newly constructed health centre and medical care is given to the patients. Perumanam is an interior village where the education of girls is neglected. In 2007, a free boarding was opened for poor village girls aiming at their all-round development. Sr.Helen Rose, the first SD Sister from Tamilnadu is teaching in the parish L.P school. A nursery is functioning very effectively. Sisters take keen interest in all parish activities.
