Jyothi Hospital is located in Laila, Belthangady, Karnataka, and owned by Sisters of the Destitute Charitable Trust Belthangady. It is a 50-bedded NABH accredited hospital.
Belthangady is a village where there are many poor sick people who are deprived of proper treatment. Seeing this poor condition His Excellency Rev. Lawrence Mukkuzhy had invited S.D. Congregation to start a hospital in Belthangady to remedy this weakness. We accepted his invitation and started a hospital by name “Jyothi Hospital”in 2004. The hospital was set up with the vision of providing quality healthcare at affordable cost to every individual. Jyothi Hospital has been functioning at Belthangady for the past 20 years caring the sick especially the poor and marginalized. We serve, imbibing the great tradition of the spirit and charism of the Founder of the congregation in our mission.
We have succeeded in reaching a few milestones during the past 20 years such as the addition of General Surgery department and de-addiction services, opened a new palliative care unit in 2012 and laser surgery in the year of 2019. Hospital service expand through Obstetrics & Gynecology, General surgery, General Medicine, Pediatric Medicine, and Orthopedic departments.
