In 2012 we bought a plot of 11 cents of land near the St. Little Flower Syro Malabar Parish church of O’ Carm Fathers at Kothannur in JP Nagar, B’lore, to build a Convent there, with a view to having a foothold in the Metropolitan city of Bangalore. At the request of the Vicar and the Parishioners, on 14 June2013 Srs.Shanta Maria and Joe Maria started to live in a rented house near the church , and engaged in family visits and other pastoral activities in order to bring up a vibrant parish community. Construction of the new convent was started on 21 April 2017, and completed and blessed on 17 December 2017.Members of the new Community were Sr. Greena, Sr. Ivy and Sr. Reeja Jose. Later arrangements were made to convert a part of the convent into a Home for forsaken orphan/single parented girls between the age of 7 to 11 years, which was discerned as the felt need of the place. Accommodation capacity is for 8 girls. This venture is supported by Dream India Network and local contributions.
