Sr.Jacinta (Thresiamma) was the ninth of eleven children of late Mr.Mathew and lateMrs.Kunjannamma of Neerakal family. She was born at Kanjirappally on 14 February, 1932. She lost her mother at the age of three. She joined SD Chunangamvely and made her FirstProfession on 7 January, 1950 and perpectual Profession was on 22 September, 1955. Sr.Venard SD is her sister. Late Sr.Agnes Neerakal is her aunt. Sr.Jacinta was meek and humble in nature. She always had a natural smile on her face which was a clear indication of her deep relationship with her beloved spouse- Jesus. She was in Thuravoor, and Muvattupuzha communities soon after her profession. In 1951 she went to Madras for nursing studies and came out in flying colours. She worked from 1955-1990 as the teaching staff in Madras and Madurai Govt. Colleges of Nursing. For twenty years, she was the Principal of the Nursing College. During those days, she was a member of National and State Nursing Councils. She helped Samaritan College of Nursing to come up in its initial stages and also was a cause of starting Sagayamatha Hospital, Coonoor. She also worked at Santhom Priest Home-Madras, Perambur, Manalady, Vysarpady, and Munchirai. From 2012 she was leading a life of rest at Santhwana. Six years she lived there and on the feast day of Holy Trinity, after consciously receiving the Sacrament of the Sick, gently went for her eternal reward on 27 May, 2018.
