Sr.Visitation (Thankamma) was born on 16 June, 1937, as the fourth of twelve children in the famous Thonippara family. Her parents were late Mr.Francis and late Mrs.Rosamma. She responded to her inner call and joined SD
Chunangamvely, at the age of seventeen. She made her First Profession on 6 January, 1957 and Perpetual Profession on 5 May, 1962. Late Sr.Electa SD & Sr.Nayomi SD are her own sisters & Sr.Navitha SD is her niece. Sr.Visitation served as local superior, Provincial Auditor and Provincial Councillor. After Teachers Training, she taught at St. Thomas School, Perumanur, for 31 long years. She was an exemplary teacher. Besides, she served at Palluruthy, Chemmanathukara, Munchirai, Kottayam, Pala and Provincial House, Chethipuzha. Sr.Visitation was a sincere, loving and hardworking person with great insight. She led a simple life avoiding praise from others. She encouraged others and had great concern for the workers, poor and needy ones. She was very good at cooking and served generously. She took care of domestic animals and fostered vegetable garden. She was sensitive to the needs of others. Moreover, she was a trust-worthy person with deep prayer life and forgiving love. For three years, she suffered from Cirrhosis liver. She could foresee that her earthly pilgrimage will soon come to an end and suffered all the pain with joy and surrendered herself to the will of God. She died on 22 August, 2007, early morning, at 2.15, in the presence of her relatives and our sisters. The funeral took place the next day at the Provincial House, Chethipuzha. Dear Sr.Vistation, you loved us with warmth and affection.
