Sr.Jesslima (Jessymol) was born on 14 February,1959, as the seventh child of late Mr.Thomas and late Mrs.Aleyamma of the Kuthivalachel Family. She was from Elamkulam, Kanjirappally diocese. From high school days, she had the desire to join a convent and dedicate her life for the suffering humanity. She joined SD in 1983 and made her First Profession on 2 January, 1987 and Perpetual Profession on 11 January, 1993. Sr.Jesslima found great joy in serving the aged people and the differently abled ones, seeing the face of Jesus the Compassionate Saviour in them! She lived in the communities- Adilabad, Lakkadakot, Kottayam and Mercy Home, Chethipuzha. Sr.Jesslima was a person of great courage and had an assertive nature. She loved the convent as her own home. She knew the great art of giving, receiving and enjoying love! She could see the loving hand of God both in joyful and painful events of life. She led a simple life and had child-like trust and devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. She was a nursery teacher and loved that job very much. While she was at Lakkadakot, she became sick and diagnosed to be having cancer in the breast, in the year 1990. All the pain and discomfort, she suffered with the Crucified Lord, quietly, with joy. During the eight years of her religious life she practiced ‘the little way’ of St.Little Flower. On 2 June, 1995, in the afternoon, her breath rhythm suddenly changed. Soon she was administered the Sacrament of the Sick. In the presence of her beloved parents and dear ones, by 2.30 pm, she embraced her Beloved.
